Dana Hernandez, also known as, “The Rock” to those around her who have had the privilege of working with her, a name that gave her the momentum to serve as her corporation’s name, Simply Rockn’ It Events.
Dana moved to the High Desert in 2009,
with her 4 kids. She got her start in Event Planning first as a Full Time Volunteer at the Marketing Director for Rose of Sharon, a Non-Profit Foundation that helps mentor and assist struggling families in the High Desert.
The next year, Dana got her big break, working as an Event and Resource Development for the Hesperia Chamber of Commerce; her position gave her great connections and a new understanding that went beyond commerce, giving her the opportunity to bring about assistance, and fun, to the local families whose resources were limited.
In addition, her position taught her valuable skills that acted as a stepping stone for her to open, Simply Rockn' It Events, giving her the opportunity to serve the community in a way that is near and dear to Dana’s heart as she serves as an advocate for any special needs family who seeks available assistance and resources.
After being open for two and a half years, currently, Simply Rockn’ It Events hosts monthly Special Needs Family dinner night that offers families a chance to get out to dinner in a safe and nurturing environment.
In addition, she hosts two Annual Events for her special needs families; an annual Easter egg hunt, ‘Eggxtra Special Easter Egg Hunt.’ In 2017, her 3rd annual ‘A Very Merry Christmas’ party, which doubled in size after the first year, so the team at Rock'n Our Disabilities added a second night, that served an additional 200 additional children and their families to enjoy Christmas for their kiddos for free!
